How to Be a Rainmaker

Rain- Thats been the weather here in New York for what feels like aforever! Since when did Seattle and New York have a swap that I didn’t know of ?
Since rain was the topic du-jour this past June/July it makes me recall a presentation on Branding I was privy to given by Ben Mack which I think had the title: “How to Be a Rainmaker” so something like that.
In this and ensuing articles I am going to attempt to cover the major partsof the talkwhich included: 1) Making lightning Strike, 2) How to keep the lightning striking and 3) Bottling your lightning.
For those of you not familiar with Dr. Ben Mack, he is one of the chief powers that be on Branding today in the USA. He has worked at over 14 different Ad agencies over his illustrious career and held position of Vice President for Brand strategy for a very large corporation.
Essentially, what that means was he was in charge of a ” billion dollar budget (that’s correct, I said ” billion or 500 million smakers)! Do you think he knows what he is talking about? I most certainly do, and not only has he performed magic for the various companies he has worked for, he is also a professional magician who at the age of 19 was the youngest beneficiary of the Award of Merit given by the Academy of Magical Arts.
So, what is a Rainmaker and why do we want to turn out to be one? a Rainmaker, aside from the apparent implication of an indian medicine man or shaman who uses his “magic” to bring rain, is an individual with uncanny ability to attract customers, use political connections and increase profits. However, with the rain also follows the the lightning! I will get into this more later.
As a marketer your most important duty is to “up sell” people on their experience of reality. In Benjamin Mack’s book “Think Two Products Ahead” he speaks about how the most valuable branding really only occurs only when people think two products ahead rather than just thinking here and now and to build a successful relationship with your clients or customers through your Brand. The section where Ben teaches how to construct your Legend Platform is worth much more than the price of the book itself!
Your “Brand” (the one called YOU!) is constructed around the concept of a “legend” or that is told over and over again and somewhere down the road get stronger with time. These tales can and should be permitted to be at odds to each other. So, if you had to single out what type of story you should use to make your business shine like a diamond (you are reading articles like these to do so correct?) why not have them be legends. How else will you become “Legendary” in your chosen field without them?

Or get into a great program. Get your head in the right so that it needs to be in to succeed and push forward. There is no other more important factor. I was paralyzed with fear until I picked up my first books and started immersing myself in getting my thoughts straight.
The internet is the only place to go these days to find an opportunity with minimal overheads and a greater rate of return. We were determined to find a company that would teach us with a simple online marketing education system that even we could master. It wasn’t easy. We wanted to find how to grow our venture ourselves, leverage for retirement and to make sure to have total control, and do it from home. I wanted to work from home so badly that I was prepared to find a way to learn what was needed in order to succeed online.
I knew I needed a great marketing education platform so I set out to find the best one. Ardyss International: An Appealing Apparel Business?

I have been working with and reviewing various MLM programs for a while. In my years in the MLM industry I became aware of a shortage of objective reviews, which is why I decided to start doing them. In this article I plan to review Ardyss International.
I have reviewed lots of MLM businesses other than Ardyss International, and I have always used the same elegant system to do so. By focusing on simple but important and universal aspects of MLM offers I am able to review them all from a detached and unbiased position.
I basically look at three obvious things, the product, the company, and the marketing strategy that already exists. In design, elegance is simplicity, but rest assured that considering these important things can really help make the decision to join Ardyss International or any other MLM company much easier.
First of course there is the product. Honestly, it?s unfair to talk about the Ardyss International product in the singular. While Ardyss International is most widely known for their body reshaping garments, like the Body Magic, they have diversified into such markets as skin care products and health care supplements. A diverse product selection has definite advantages, but the fact is that there are plenty of competitors in both health supplements and skin care products.
Ardyss International itself is nearly 20 years old, having been incorporated in 1991. They have been making the reshaping garments the whole time, and I feel comfortable saying that a manufacturer with substandard product would not last as long as Ardyss has, so that makes Ardyss as a company pretty solid from an MLM perspective.
Finally there are the marketing materials. I usually feel this is the least important factor as the marketing skill of an individual distributor is much more important to his success than the quality of the company’s marketing materials. That being said Ardyss International does offer a line of brochures for their distributors as well as an internet portal that makes internet sales and recruiting easier for the distributors.
In the end success with Ardyss International, or any other MLM, is going to depend on the marketing knowledge of the distributor. No matter how good the product, how solid the company, and how effective the marketing materials may be, if the distributor does not know how to market effectively they will not succeed.
I strongly recommend to anybody who is already involved in an MLM program, or is considering joining one like Ardyss International, to go ahead and take the time to educate their self on marketing.

Ardyss International Complaints: Who’s To Blame?

In my years in the MLM industry I have seen complaints about just about every MLM program I have ever looked at. It is for that reason that I am not surprised to see the number of Ardyss International complaints that are floating around out there in the echo chamber commonly called the internet.
To start with, some of the Ardyss International complaints or MLM complaints in general, are in fact valid. Whether a given product is worth its cost is completely subjective to the consumer. Complaints about the price or the effects of the product are valid because the consumer’s feelings are valid, but they are ultimately just opinion.
Like any MLM business, lots of the Ardyss International complaints accuse Ardyss of using false or misleading advertising. Not only is this accusation lodged against the assorted product lines offered by Ardyss, they are also lodged against the money making potential of their multilevel marketing system.
So are the Ardyss International complaints about the product being falsely advertised true? Well, frankly, I’d be surprised if they were not true at least some of the time. Multilevel marketing systems offer everyday people the chance to own their business. While it is incumbent on companies like Ardyss to attempt to police the actions and claims of their distributors, it is not logistically feasible for them to be keeping tabs on everybody everywhere. This means there are bound to be a small handful of less than scrupulous people willing to make claims about Ardyss products that Ardyss themselves do not make, but that is an issue that crops in multilevel marketing period, not just for Ardyss.
The Ardyss International complaints that are focused on the business opportunity are pretty standard for any MLM business. Usually most complaints focus on whether or not a MLM business can really provide income without work, or if anybody can actually succeed with one.
It is true that a MLM business can provide its owner with a steady income with virtually no work, however it takes a lot of work before the MLM business reaches the strength necessary to do this. It takes plenty of work and energy to grow a MLM business to such a point, and all too often people expect an MLM business to dump money into their lap as soon as they sign up.
As for whether or not anybody can succeed in multilevel marketing, well that is true too. However while anybody can succeed, they still need to know how to market to succeed. A solid understanding of marketing makes it possible to succeed in any MLM, and that includes Ardyss.
The Ardyss International complaints out there are all variations of the same complaints lodged against any MLM product. Usually people who complain about a MLM program have either tried on their self, or knew somebody who did, and had terrible results. If you take the time to educate yourself on marketing, you can avoid joining the ranks of the dissatisfied.

Ardyss Review: Perspectives from a Non-Distributor

In my years working in the multilevel marketing industry I have looked at more than my fair share of MLM products. While I truly believe success is possible in any MLM system, it would be naive to pretend that any MLM opportunity is as good as another.
To this end I developed a simple three point system I use each and every time I am looking at a new MLM product, whether I am considering participating in it myself, or simply trying to offer a useful review to people considering a given MLM opportunity. That being said let us go ahead and take a look at Ardyss.
When I evaluate any MLM business, Ardyss included, I always look at the product, then the company, and finally any marketing materials that the company might make available. These three traits are obviously a part of any MLM business so they provide me with guideposts when trying to determine the value of an MLM product.
So first there is the Ardyss product to consider. Frankly, product in the singular is inappropriate when talking about Ardyss. They may have started as a manufacturer of “body reshaping garments” but their current product line includes not only a wide assortment of such garments for both men and women, but health supplements and skin care products as well. I do not know if the Body Magic will cause permanent change in the people that use it, but using restrictive undergarments to reshape the body is not a new idea.
While they are a leader in the garments, both the skin care and health supplement products have been highly competitive industries for some time, and that level of competition is not something to be taken lightly.
Lastly there is the marketing system. It is always helpful to find a MLM opportunity that has a solid marketing system in place that lends its self to duplication, but those are not all that common. The truth is that success with Ardyss, or any other MLM opportunity ultimately falls on the shoulders of the distributor.
In order to succeed with Ardyss or any MLM business a thorough understanding of how to effectively market is necessary. It is a lack of marketing knowledge that so often leads people to frustration with MLM programs.
If you want to see your MLM business grow into a healthy revenue machine you need to take the time to research effective marketing techniques. Doing so will not only enable you to succeed with Ardyss or any other MLM product you are currently affiliated with, but any MLM product at all.

- And what happens after you’ve approached everyone you know? Picture yourself chasing people in malls and public places for a “few minutes of their time”!
