It seems everywhere I go I am being accosted by people trying to get me to download and install this ShoppingGenie software which apparently is supposed to save me money. I supposed I should be touched that so many people are concerned with my financial well-being!
In fact, I think I have suddenly heard from at least 5 ‘long last’ friends in the last 2 weeks looking to help me save money with this MyMarketingGenie download! Given that I like to keep up with what is happening online I thought I would check out it what the fuss is all about and get some hard facts.

The company behind MyShoppingGenie is MyNetUniverse and they have been in business since 2007. They have this grand vision to get this software onto every PC in the world. Kinda sounds a little like Microsoft from way back then. Well thats a good model I think, isn’t’ it?
Now having a mega vision is a good thing out of the gates although you need to have the follow through to deliver on this vision and that means having the management, the systems and the products. MyNet Universe have a corporate background makeup to their management team so lots of experience from that side however it appears very little from a network marketing perspective which is what is needed for a network marketing company I would think.
You have to give it to them though as they have been going 3 years and have made it past the 2 year mark which sees most MLM companies hit the wall. So they must be doing certain things well.
If we consider the product now – well it couldn’t be simpler – it consists of a software download which integrates with your browser and works in the background to find the the cheapest option for anything you decide to search on and then presents these back to you.
So it can save you time and money and given its free it is probably a no-brainer to download and try it out.
The reason people are so keen to hand it out is because they are distributors for the company and this how the product is marketed, through distributors who stand to gain from you using it to search and find products. It starts from as little as $1 for each 3 searches that you do and it goes up from there
It ramps up from there to include a pay-per-click type model ala Google and so the distributor has the opportunity to earn affiliate type commissions when people purchase through their affiliate programs and recommended products. Finally, they also earn when they enrol other distributors.

Also provided in this pricing is the standard network marketing offerings such as replicated websites, capture pages, banners and promotional material. Training is usually also provided and I would be surprised if that was not the case here too,
There is one important thing to consider though..
Downloading MyShoppingGenie is a simple enough job and it makes sense to do so if its going to give you savings and save you time locating the best prices.
Creating a business of of this product though is another matter all together. Network marketing can be a lucrative opportunity and so can this product and company, IF you have a proper marketing system which ensures a continuous flow of prospects.
What most people seem to be doing, in my experience, and which, incidentally, is the worst thing you can do in this business, is to target you family and friends.
Some people, those with large personalities and large circle of friends and family, can get this method to work for them.
However for most people, and I am talking about the 70% of people just don’t have this setup and so getting leads, without joining the NFL club (The No Friends Left Club), is paramount to creating a successful business. There are only so many people in your circle that you will be able to hand out this free software to before a certain saturation level is reached and so you need to get this critical point.
Some people I have heard saying that it is an easy business as all you need to do is hand out free software however this wont make you successful as you need to enroll other distributors to really get things moving.
