Jesus said “A prophet is not welcome in his own land” because in your circle of influence, people have preconceptions as well as a bias about you. Unless of course you have already been highly effective during the past, they recall your history of downfalls more vividly than your reputation of success.

One of the most frightening words any brand new multilevel marketing recruit will ever hear are, “produce a list of one hundred of your close friends, relations, and business acquaintances and call every one of them”. This can be a remarkable exercise and it can get you started, but there is a less stressful approach than chasing after people who already have a (not necessarily good) opinion about you.

Consider this case in point: what happens when a guy chases non-stop after a woman for a date? It’s a real turn-off and she FLEES from him. What are the results when a salesman is eager to close a purchase? The prospect senses his desperation and is repelled. The same comes about when a Multilevel Marketing rep tries to recruit a prospective client so they can make it to the next higher level of the comp plan or because they need the cash: the prospective client flees!

Just what might it take to have prospects chase YOU? How would you develop into the “sought after”, instead of the seeker?

You may have had the experience of something really great happening to you while you were least expecting it. It’s not unusual to hear to hear about a male who begins getting more attention from females when he’s no longer on the lookout for a hookup. Any time a sales person exudes an air of “I don’t really care whether you buy my product or not”, it may cause you to want the product even more. (After all, if the salesman has all the business he wants, the product must be really good, right?) And we’ve all learned about couples who conceive a child the moment they stop trying so hard.

What on earth is this bizarre phenomenon? Why do do we have difficulty obtaining the stuff we would like and the things we try hardest to obtain? One school of thought is that we subconsciously repel the things you want. I want to demonstrate. If you want some thing or circumstance, it’s because you don’t have it. In the end, as soon as you HAVE what you’d like, you would not have to “want” it. Correct?

Here’s yet another way of considering it: we all only want things and circumstances we don’t possess. If you want a larger downline, you are unconsciously holding it in your head that you do not have a big enough downline. If your mindset is that you don’t have enough recruits, then you definitely can’t HAVE enough recruits.

The bottom line is you can’t possess two conditions at the same time. You can’t have sufficient and NOT have sufficient–of anything–simultaneously. It is like darkness and light. They can’t both be present in the same place at the same time.

The true secret to producing a flourishing MLM organization is to do the things that you need to do (telephone calls, blog posts, recruiting and training activities) but don’t be emotionally involved with the end result. Don’t do them because there isn’t enough. Do them simply because they produce predictable outcome whenever you do them. If your mindset is one of scarcity scarcity, you’ll attract people of the same mindset. Thales are the wrong people to attract. you want to attract people of abundance and plenty! they’re a lot more fun to be around.

Concern yourself more with the quality of your effort than with the final results. If you take pleasure in your recruiting efforts and if you communicate an unspoken message that you don’t need your prospect to join your down line, they’ll wonder what it is you enjoy so much about your opportunity and they’ll choose to work with with you because it’s clear that you’re having a good time.

This specific, simple shift in your thinking will make you an Attraction Marketing Professional and will put you a head and shoulders above of your competitors, no matter which network marketing company you represent.
