If you are a beginner or a newbie who wants to start an online marketing business then you will need someone to teach you a few things to get you started. Knowing how to choose a niche, create a platform, add content, and market your product(s) is easy and, yes, even you can compete with the gurus.

1. A Business Plan – most new businesses fail because they do not take the time to create a business plan first. Even a simple plan can mean the difference between success and failure for your online business. Smart entrepreneurs take the time to lay out their goals ahead of time. Business plans are easy to create!

2. A Good Niche – finding profitable niches is as simple as identifying the right keyword. Knowing what keywords are heavily searched on and have reasonable competition on the internet is known as market or keyword research. It is not enough to choose a niche you like without knowing if there is any profitability in it. There has to be targeted traffic who is ready and willing to buy a your particular product.

3. Email Marketing – though there are many ways to generate online money, email marketing, also referred to as lead generation, is one of the most powerful internet marketing tactics that can be used for any niche and any online business.

4. SEO or Search Engine Optimization – is using keywords or phrases within your site that relate directly to your site’s topic. It used to be common practice to stuff the content and meta tags (within the HTML of the site) with tons of keywords to trick the search engines but doing this today will likely get your site banned. Using your keywords sparingly and wisely throughout your site and within your meta tags will help to get your site indexed quickly and in good standing.

You can easily do keyword and niche research, find great content for your site, outsource most of your work through online services, or even automate the content that comes into your site or blog. Knowing what tools will serve you best is important or you could end up spending your last dime on products that don’t do what they say they do.

7. Outsource Your Work – once you get started with your Internet Marketing business you’ll find that keeping up with the work is difficult. Outsourcing some of your work to others is easy, inexpensive and well worth it. You should be concentrating on Marketing your business and hire others to write your articles, create your sites and blogs, build your Web 2.0 properties, or other tedious processes that take your time away from promoting your sites and blogs.

8. Blog Building – this is an effective way of putting up a quick site for free. Blogging is highly popular among most online marketers today. The cost is effective and the ability to add numerous programs (plugins) makes blogs the easiest way to get your products set up quickly with little effort. If you don’t like the themes offered by blog sites you can search the Web for free themes and upload them to your blog. Or, you can hire someone to create a unique theme specifically for you and your niche.

9. Marketing With Articles – article marketing is the process of submitting well written and information-packed articles to places like Ezinearticles.com. By doing this you can build backlinks to your site or blog. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of places on the Internet to submit your articles to. Be sure to read the rules for each and abide by them. For example, Ezinearticles won’t accept duplicate content. There are ways of checking if your work is unique or not so don’t try to copy an article written by someone else. Write unique content and add your links in the Bio or other areas where they are allowed.

10. Strategies For Internet Marketing – success with any online business is heavily based on strategies. It involves a process of marketing your site and product through a series of steps that bring attention to the search engines. Depending on your financial abilities, some of the strategies you choose to use can be free or very costly. One such approach is paper per click Advertising where you pay a fee every time a visitor clicks your add regardless of whether or not they purchase anything from you.
